EXERCISE USE

This mobility exercise is used to help release neural tension through the sciatic nerve, which can be caused by a lumbar disc bulge or post-surgery.


INSTRUCTIONS

In lying keep your lumbar spine in neutral and flex your ankle so your toes come towards you. Slowly straighten your knee to feel the stretch on the back of the knee and/or calf. Don't go too far that you feel pain in your back and don't let you back flatten - maintain a neutral spine position.

Do repetitions of bending and straightening the knee to bringing the tension on and off. Then do repetitions bending and pointng the foot, but keeping the knee straight.
