KS | Knee Flexion Supine (ROM)

This is a flexion range of movement exercise for your knee . It helps you to increase the flexion ROM and extend your knee in a gentle controlled way to prevent or work stiffness out of your knee. This is a common post-op exercise. Make sure you check with your surgeon or physio before beginning any post-op exercises.

Demonstration and Instructions

Lie on your back with both of your knees straight and feet resting on the floor. Push your heel gently down into the floor and slide your foot back towards your bottom, BENDING your knee as far back as you canĀ using your hamstrings (back of thigh muscles) to help pull your leg there. Slide back down to straight again. Repeat 3 x 10

Special Notes
To make this exercise easier you can do it on a slippery surface like lino or a polished floor, and assist the movement with a towel around your heel to pull you knee into flexion. Wear a sock to make it slide better
